Lots of common sense advice on how to start and run a business. It focuses on the mindset to stay motivated and prioritization to avoid distractions, without getting into detail on actual business topics (making for a quick and motivating read rather than acting as a longer distraction of the type she recommends we avoid...so meta).
The only detractor was all of the God talk. As an atheist I find I am about as motivated by talk of a "God" as I would be by the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
Misty Lown is a true leader of leaders! She has a gift to find the simplest way to make you believe that everything and anything is possible. One Small Yes, puts it all together with true nuggets of advice, motivation and inspiration. This book is a blueprint for understanding that we all have calling and the small act of saying 'Yes' is the vehicle to get you there. Each chapter is filled with stories and tools to get you closer to living the life you always dreamed of, making a difference by finding your calling is only One Small YES away. This book will find a special place in my library to come back to again and again!
I have watched in awe of how Misty Lown grew her business to be the successful dance studio it is. I never thought that I could have the courage or the knowledge to do something like that. After reading One Small Yes, I realize that I too, can do whatever I set my mind to. This book spoke to me on so many levels. I am at a crossroad in my life trying to decide which direction to go next. After reading the first two pages I had goosebumps. I called my husband at work and read those pages aloud to him. I would recommend this book to anyone trying to find their calling in life!
The advice Misty shares in this book is incredibly relatable for anyone who is running a business or planning to start one. I loved the simple way in which she shares her enormous experience.
My favorite takeaway is the "toolbox" where Misty shares exact moments in her career where she learned each of the lessons she's sharing. I could relate to all of them and could easily identify hownI could have applied her insight in my business.
All in all this book was an easy, simple book to read full of great, concise and actionable tips one can incorporate into his or her business right away.

Misty Lown gives tidbits of wisdom in small bites that are practical, easy to digest and will take your life in a wonderful and fulfilling direction. Misty inspires you to find and pursue your calling, one step at a time. This book is full to the brim of humility, truth, insight, passion and real stories of success and failures that we can all learn from. I will read and reference this book often!!!

Wow! I just finished reading Misty Lown's "One Small Yes" and am left feeling inspired and motivated. Misty's practical approach to running a business, enjoying life, all while pursuing a dream just makes sense. I felt as if she was writing directly TO ME! I relate to her stories and life course in so many ways. This is a must read for small business owners and entrepreneurs. She has flattened the learning curve of taking your business and goals to the next level. I relate especially to the chapter dealing with daily distractions. I'm excited to do the work, recognize when I'm being distracted and feel prepared to say "yes" to the next chapter in my life.
